How to care for your Jewelry
The Golden Rule
Always remove when showering, when doing Lundry or exercising. Avoid exposure to water, perfumes and body lotion
Always store your jewelry separately and in the Jewlery box (our box is perfect for this) to help prevent scratch and prolong the life span of your jewelry
Gently polish your jewelry with a soft polishing cloth that comes with your sterling silver order to bring back it's shine
18k Gold
Solid gold is a precious metal that is a durable and resistant to tarnishing so you can wear it almost all the time. Clean your gold jewelry regularly in order to maintain its beauty and shine. A soft, lint free cloth or even better a gold polishing cloth is an effective way to keep gold jewelry looking its very best
Sterling silver
Some of our jewelry is made with sterling silver 925. Silver tarnishes over time so avoid contact with water, sweat, lotions and perfumes. However, the oils in your skin help to prevent silver from oxidising faster. So, wear your piece often and store it in a jewelry box. If your silver is tarnished the best way to clean it is with a jewelry polishing cloth
18ct Gold Plating
At Karatsnmor we love the warmth of gold. We hand plate your sterling silver jewelry with a thick layer (approximately 1 micron) of 18ct gold to ensure a very hard-wearing, durable finish with high shine. This finish will wear away over time and may require re-plating. To avoid the plating wearing away, make sure you avoid contact with water, sweat, lotions and perfumes. Clean your plated jewelry by buffing gently with a dry cloth and store it in an airtight jewelry box
Birthstones
We use an array of precious and semi-precious stones, from sapphires to citrine. All gemstones can be damaged by chemicals, water and even sunlight but prolonged exposure to the latter may cause certain gemstones to become paler. To keep gemstones clean and shiny, polish with a soft cloth
